Day Three (article in English)

Today, April 9th, we went to the Tower of London where much about London’s history was told. This castle was from the 12th century. We saw many objects such as crowns, weapons and torture tools from the past years. We thought that it was very interesting to discover them to expand our knowledge. 


Later we went to Borough Market where we ate delicious tuna sandwiches. Then we went to explore around it and ate mac & cheese and pulled pork sandwiches which were very tasteful. 


Then we went to the Tate Modern museum and it was an amazing experience. We saw plenty of abstract paintings. Thanks to these paintings we completed a little book with drawings. This book pushed us to really explore the museum to complete it well. 






After the Tate museum we had free time where we shopped at Oxford Circus and got some new clothes.



And the evening when we came home we directly had dinner. We ate very good pizzas. Then afterwards we had a little bit of time to shower and rest before playing a little game with all the students.

 6:45: rendez vous à Gare du Nord pour prendre l'Eurostar. Malgré notre départ anticipé, l'organisation de la douane n'était pas optimale, ce qui nous a fait rater le train de 8:32. 9:10: le départ du prochain train est arrivé et cette fois-ci nous sommes tous montés à bord. Après un trajet calme, "unplugged" et plein de repos, nous avons enfin mis les pieds à la Gare de Saint-Pancras. Le temps était avec nous avec un grand soleil et un ciel dégagé, ce qui n'est pas habituel pour cette destination. Tous affamés, nous avons pris le fameux "tube" londonien direction l'auberge de jeunesse. A peine arrivés, les professeurs se sont chargés du check-in pendant que nous déjeunions sur la terrasse au soleil. Puis nous avons repris le tube direction Shoreditch pour une visite guidée sur le street art et graffiti. Le groupe a été séparé en 3: chacun est parti dans une direction différente. Street Art in Shoreditch

Lors de notre tour à Old Street notre groupe a découvert le street art grace un guide photographe et passionné de street art.  Nous nous sommes baladés dans les environs découvrant différentes oeuvres d’art au fur et à mesure de la visite, cependant des oeuvres nous ont marquées plus que d’autres. Pour notre part la télé et le rat de Banksy nous ont particulièrement plus par leur style et leurs histoires.  La visite était animée grace au guide enthousiaste et les différentes interactions dans le groupe. Durant la visite nous avons appris l’existence de différents styles de street art, tels que les graffitis, le pixel art et le collage.  Pour autant les oeuvres peuvent être illégales comme légales et envoient un message différent en fonction de leurs apparence et de l’artiste qui les a peintes. Day Four

This morning, after having breakfast, we had to pack our luggage and clean up our rooms before leaving the Hotel to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.   On our way there, we stopped for a quick lunch in front of the Tate Modern museum. Once at the theatre, which is located near the Thames, and near St. Pauls’s Cathedral, a guide gave us a fast tour of the building. During the tour, we discovered the Globe’s history and its unusual architecture, and we also saw some actors rehearse for the play Macbeth which was being held afterwards. Interestingly, we found out that the Globe that we were visiting was actually the third, because the previous ones had either burnt down or been destroyed. After the tour, the guide brought us to a studio, where we took part in a theatre workshop around the Balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.
